Brilliant Tech exists to solve meaningful problems by building complete ecosystems — not isolated software, not one-off websites, but the full system of people, strategy, technology, products, and partnerships an idea needs to become a durable business.

We didn’t set out to be a software shop. We set out to be the group that takes on the ventures other firms won’t commit to end-to-end — the ones that need more than a vendor relationship to succeed. That discipline is the same whether we’re standing up a small business’s operating system, developing a patented product toward manufacturing, or building an entertainment ecosystem from the ground up. Small Business Mastery, Future Films, Paint Roller Innovation, and TRS Home Exteriors are proof of that method applied across genuinely different industries — not four unrelated side projects.

Who’s Building It

Scott Utterback, Founder and Chairman of Brilliant Tech Inc.

Scott Utterback, Founder & Chairman

Forty-two years founding and operating businesses — not advising them from the outside. Scott has built and run companies across construction and the trades, restoration (water, fire, and mold mitigation certified), roofing, kitchen and bath renovation, countertop fabrication, commercial contracting, and multi-location retail in Colorado and on the Oregon Coast, along with restaurants and commercial build-outs including a fourteen-store renovation project. That work has also taken him internationally, including India, Switzerland, and Armenia.

Running many businesses meant running that many independent software tools — one for the restoration industry, insurance industry, finance, scheduling, critical path management, and more. What that taught him: scattered technology doesn’t deliver like a business working as one system. That’s the gap Brilliant Tech was built to close: a business operating system built on systems, automation, and intelligence, turning scattered data into decision-making opportunities before problems get expensive. For the owner, that means real control: growing the business on evidence instead of instinct, and scaling it by design instead of reacting to whatever breaks next. That range is also why Brilliant Tech isn’t built around one industry: the same operating discipline that can run a restoration company, a roofing business, and retail stores is what lets it install just as cleanly into a filmmaking ecosystem, a manufacturing licensing deal, or a home services company.

What Guides the Work

  • Integrity in how we evaluate every opportunity — we tell people plainly when we’re not the right fit.
  • Innovation measured by outcomes, not novelty for its own sake.
  • Partnership that continues past the first deliverable — we build systems designed to keep creating value long after.

What We Operate

Multiple ecosystems, multiple industries, one method.

Brilliant Tech doesn’t theorize ecosystems from a slide deck. We operate them — some live and serving customers, some building, some still in development or R&D. Thin public portfolio language is honest at this stage. Process, pain clarity, and operator-lived experience do the work until outcomes can be shown without inventing numbers.

Brilliant Tech Inc. (parent)

Live

Industry: Business operating systems — website, CRM, automation, AI-assisted decisions, measurement.

Problem served: Owners stuck with departmental islands of software who need the company to run as one system.

Status: Live (public site and method). Roadmap priority: strengthen BTI first as the parent proof, then deepen the operating companies below.

Small Business Mastery®

Live / building

Industry: Small business growth systems.

Problem served: Owners working hard inside fragmented tools — website, CRM, and ops that never talk — who need a connected operating system instead of another bolt-on.

Status: Live / building. Dedicated site: https://smallbusinessmastery.net/. Cohort and package paths live on that site, not sold as a side offer on BTI.

TRS Home Exteriors

Operating / systems building

Industry: Home exteriors and bathroom renovation (roofing, siding, windows, gutters, related systems).

Problem served: Homeowners facing multi-trade projects with uneven communication — and a company that needs sales, project management, install, and follow-up working as one system as volume grows.

Status: Operating business / systems building. Established company serving homeowners today. Dedicated site: https://trshomeexteriors.com/. Ecosystem work focuses on strengthening the operating layer behind the work.

Future Films

In development

Industry: Entertainment / talent-to-production ecosystem.

Problem served: Talent discovery, production, education, and audience engagement treated as separate problems instead of one reinforcing system.

Status: In development. Competition site and public waitlist are planned, not live yet. Ambition is clear; stage is honest.

Paint Roller Innovation

R&D → licensing

Industry: Physical product innovation → manufacturing and licensing.

Problem served: A better painting tool that should not stop at the patent — it needs a path into manufacturing, licensing, and commercial partnerships.

Status: R&D → licensing. Patented innovation; current work is prototypes and manufacturer conversations. Formal licensing and partnership outreach follows that foundation — not ahead of it.

One method

Different industries. Different stages. The same sequence: Discover → Understand → Design → Build → Measure. That is how islands of tools become one system — and how ecosystems are designed to evolve instead of create / launch / rebuild.
